Year 6- Swans
Welcome to 6 Swans, the home of Mrs Jefferies, Mrs Linton, Miss Milot and lots of super swans. The transition from Year 5 to Year 6 is an important time as the children will become more independent learners and will experience lots of new fantastic topics. Let’s not forget SATS!
To support your child, you can practise and learn; times tables, spellings and make sure that reading is being completed at home regularly. We will of course be working very hard in class too, as well as having lots of fun!
The topics which will be covered throughout the year will include: A Child’s War, Frozen Kingdom, Revolution, Darwin’s Delights, Hola Mexica and Identity.
Mrs Linton teaches on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. She is really enjoying teaching Year 6.
Mrs Jefferies teaches on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and loves her Year 6 class, who she looks forward to seeing each week.
Here are what some of the children in 6 Swans said about our class:
Aaliyah: “Our teachers really respect us.”
Vinnie: “I really enjoy PE and we have lots of chances to represent our school at competitions.”
Billy: “Our lessons are fun and challenging.”
Ciaron: “The topics are adventurous and fun.”
Stephen: “We have started a writing club at lunch time.”
