Pupil Voice

Picture 1

At Eastchurch Primary School, pupil voice is very important.

We listen in a number of ways.  We send out questionnaires, we have pupil conferences and we have an active school council.

Here are the results of the most recent survey that we conducted.

Daisy-Helina – “Our topic is Enchanted Woodland. We read Hansel and Gretal, we made up actions and drew a story map. I wrote a story about a tree ogre who lost his cat.”

Tommy – “In the Superheroes topic, we dressed up as superheroes. Zak was a policeman.”

Teddy – “My favourite topic was Towers, Tunnels and Turrets. It was fun to learn about the olden days. We made towers and bridges out of cardboard.”

Olivia – “I liked our Muck, Mess and Mixtures topic best because we got everything all dirty! We’ve been reading George’s Marvellous Medicine. It’s really good!”

Tommy-Lee – “I like the Muck, Mess and Mixtures topic. My best lesson was when we touched shaving foam, flour, clay and melted jelly. It was really fun!”

Lola – “For our homework, we had to make a potion!”

Zethan – “In Heroes and Villains topic, I made my own top trump cards for homework. I also made a recipe with things like a pinch of badness and a spoon of kindness.”

Lauren – “In Tremors topic, we ripped up newspaper and made a volcano. For our homework, we had to make a volcano.”

Ella – “My favourite topic was 1066 because I like learning about stuff that happened in the past.”

Alfie – “I really like Stargazers because I like space. I learnt about Tim Peake and he inspired me. When I grow up, I might want to go on the International Space Station.”

Ella – We have fun homework! I went to a castle, Dover Castle. I went on a camping trip and I bought my telescope and we went stargazing. I saw some constellations; they are pictures in the sky. If you do really interesting homework, then you remember it.”

Ella – “Seeing things for real helps me to learn. We went in a big tent and we saw the night sky. It was a big dome. There were lots of stars everywhere and a telescope.”

Maya – “I like the topic 'Off with your Head' best. It is based on history and about famous people in the past.”

Jude – I like the Stargazers topic best. We went in a big Dome in the hall; all the constellations joined the stars. They told us about gravity. We went to the other site and Mr Scott told us about stars. I liked racing the moon buggies.”

Olivia – “I like the topic 'A Child’s War' because it was interesting. I want to know more about the Blitz. We visited the old house in Sittingbourne.”

Louis – “I liked reading Goodnight Mr Tom and we watched the film. We had a street party where we ate ration food.”

Olivia – “Active lessons helps me to learn.”
