Geography Curriculum Intent 

At Eastchurch Primary School our intent for Geography is to foster a curiosity about the world, developing a deep understanding of diverse places, people, resources, and environments. Our school provides a coherent and progressive curriculum, starting with the study of local environments and expanding to explore the UK and the wider world.  Our curriculum not only covers key geographical knowledge but also equips pupils with essential geographical skills including fieldwork, map reading and critical thinking,  

We also aim to promote a love for geography through engaging lessons that are hands-on, relevant to pupils’ lives, and make cross-curricular connections where appropriate. Pupils are encouraged to explore their learning further using the skills of enquiry. This will inspire pupils to become enthusiastic global citizens who appreciate the interconnectedness of the world and value the importance of sustainable development. Pupils will leave Eastchurch with the key Geographical knowledge and skills to be successful in their learning and with an appreciation of different cultures and perspectives.
