The Aviators (PTFA)
The Aviators are a Parent, Friends and Teachers Association; a group of parents, friends and teachers who want to bring some fun, positivity and events to the school. We wanted a group in keeping with school traditions and the wider community and, with the creation of the Aviators, we feel we have achieved just that.
Some of us come from a business background, and some of us are stay at home parents, so we see the potential in creating something that will raise money and support the school, but we intend to also bring fun and wider experiences to the children. We know that education is the forefront of any school but, as parents, we want to know that our children are enjoying their school experience as well as receiving a first-class education. This is where we step in; encouraging parent interaction will in hand benefit both education and enjoyment and will compliment the hard work of the school with our children’s education.
To bring a little fun, we have a mascot Shortie (after the Short brothers who are famed for bringing Aviation to Britain and took their first test flight right here at Muswell Manor in Shellness). We feel he is an instant identity and something for the children to engage with.
We plan to liaise with parents and teachers to bring events and fundraisers to the school. Not only that, we will also encourage people to donate time with projects to help our school environment. With help and support from the school, parents, carers, family and friends we really can continue to make the school great!
We appreciate that everyone’s schedules are different, but any time you could offer towards event and fundraising would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to get involved, we have an Aviators Facebook page or alternatively speak to a member of school staff who can point you in our direction.
