Session 1 - Phonics

We are going to continue learning Phase 3 sounds which are all digraphs, two letters making one sound or a trigraph, three letters making one sound. Mrs Holmes is back with a video to help you segment and blend to build words using the long and short ‘oo’ digraphs. We are going to be adding sound buttons to help you today. Join in to show your teachers how clever you are.

Session 2 – English

Today we are going to finish our ‘Thank You’ picture for an Everyday Hero. What message could your write. Watch the video of Mrs Holmes discussing different messages you could write for the Everyday Hero you have chosen. What could we say thank you for? Add your ‘Thank You’ message to your picture.  If possible can you post or deliver your picture to school and then I will deliver your ‘Thank You’ picture to the Everyday Hero you have chosen.

Please let me know if it is for a specific shop or supermarket, Doctor, Nurse or adult in school so that I can make sure I deliver it to the correct place or person. If you live in Eastchurch village it would be really nice to make a ‘Thank You’ picture for the local Costcutter or Londis shop or your local shop in Leysdown , Warden Bay or Harty. I cannot wait to see your finished ‘Thank You’ pictures.

Session 3 -  Maths

Today we are learning 1 more and 1 less. Watch the video with Mrs Holmes and some toys.

Can you watch carefully and help Mrs Holmes work out the toys she has lost?  Then there are some naughty mice that keep running away and Mrs Holmes needs some help to work out how many there are left when there is 1 less. Count along the number track to help Mrs Holmes with her numbers and counting.

Session 4 - PSHE

Back in week 3 you watched Mrs Leigh practise her handwriting and she wasn’t very good. She wanted to get better at her handwriting though and so she [practised and practiced and practised. She used the Letter Join program and practised some more and now her handwriting is so much better. She did not give up and she achieved her goal.

Think back to what you wanted to get better at. Have you practised and got better? Let us know how you got on, let us know what you did to improve and get better. Did you keep practising? Did you get help from somebody else?  Did you achieve your goal? Get your grown up to video you telling and showing us how you got better and improved. How did you feel when you started getting better at your goal? We will send you a special certificate if you achieved your goal.
