Watch the video of Mrs Oakenfull reading the story of Snow is my Favourite and my Best by Lauren Child.

 

Encourage your child/ren to explore some of the questions raised in the story, for example: Where does it come from? Can you hear it? Does it fall slowly or quickly?

 

Ask your child/ren the Snow Questions and ask them to share some of the things they love to do in the snow and how it makes them feel.

 

Practise your fine motor and tracing skills! You can either print off the Snowflake tracing cards for your child/ren to trace over or mum and/or dad can draw a snowflake to trace over using a different colour pen.

 

What colour pens are you going to use? What colours best suit snowflakes? Encourage your child/ren to hold the pens correctly.
