Session 1 - Phonics

We continue to use phase 2 and phase 3 phonemes, digraphs and trigraphs to segment and blend to read and record words and phrases. Today Mrs Holmes recaps ch, sh and th. Join in and show your teacher how clever you are!

 

Session 2 – English

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes sharing a picture from our new text. What do you notice about the picture? Who do you think the little girl is and how is she feeling? Introduce Lola and that she hates tomatoes. What do you think it is about tomatoes that she doesn’t like? Listen to Mrs Holmes reading the beginning of the story. Can you discuss and write a sentence about what it is Lola doesn’t like about tomatoes? Is it the skin? Is it the seeds? Is it the tomato juice?

 

Session 3 -  Maths - Representing and sorting numbers 9 and 10

Watch the video of Mrs Leigh finding out about 9 and 10. What does 9 look like in a tens frame? What does 10 look like in a tens frame?

 

Activity

Print or have a look at the picture cards. Sort the picture cards into ones that show 9 and ones that show 10

 

Challenge

Have a look around your house, can you find 9 of something? Can you find 10 of something?

Can you show me this in a tens frame? Can you find the numerals 9 and 10 around your house or out on a walk?

Extra Fun - Vegetable Printing

Cut shapes from potatoes or carrots and create a printing picture or pattern. Dip the potato or carrot into paint to create a colourful picture or pattern.
