SPAG

Today we will be looking at how to use a hyphen correctly. Look through the information resource below and complete the tasks.

Reading

Read chapter 4 and 5 of the Dark castle mystery. Answer the multiple choice and open-ended questions, which are based on chapter 5.

English

Today you will be focusing on Jim’s character. You will need to think about everything you have read so far (remember you can listen to the chapters again if you need to) and create a role on the wall for Jim. Once you have collated your ideas, you will be writing a pen portrait. Watch the video PowerPoint where you will be guided through the lesson.

Maths

Today’s maths is about finding the volume of a cuboid. Click here: https://vimeo.com/508931067 to access the White Rose video. A PowerPoint version has been attached below. Complete the fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions provided – see resources below.

Topic

Today we will be having a brief look at Victorian schools and what kinds of things they learnt. Follow the PowerPoint for more information.

Activity one: Choose one of the Victorian recipes or toys to make. You will need to plan your design.

What will the final design look like?

What materials/ingredients do you need?

How long will it take you?

What equipment will you need?

Is there any additional information?

Remember to label your work, bonus points if you use colour!

Activity two (optional): Using your plan, you have the option to create your final product. If you choose to create a toy, you may use any resources around your household – even paper or cardboard or any other junk modelling resources.

The three recipes are available in the resource section for anyone wanting to give it a go!

Remember to take pictures so we can see your amazing home learning!
