Today’s Activities

Today is World Book Day. Check out the videos posted by your teacher on today’s Class Story pages.

 

We have attached a World Book Day Quiz for you to try today. See how many questions that you can get correct and message your teacher with your results. Also attached to today’s blog is a Book Token which can be printed off and exchanged for a free book or used to get £1 off a children’s book of your choice costing £2.99 or more in participating shops. In addition we’ve also attached a World Book Day Activity Sheet that you may want to complete for fun as well.

 

GPS

You have a choice of activities today! You can either complete the spelling maze (040321.year 4.GPS4maze) OR the word search (040321.year4.GPS4wordsearch). You then need to choose three of the spellings to include in three different sentences.                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Handwriting

For handwriting today, we will be using the Year 3/4 words that we practised on Tuesday and we will be putting them into sentences. Read through page 4 (you will need to scroll down to 'Missing Word Sentences 1: 4 ) of 040321.year4.handwriting2 PAGE 4 ONLY.  Fill in the missing words (each sentence has 3 missing words) so that each sentence makes sense. Remember to use your very best Eastchurch handwriting!    

 

Reading Activity

Today you will be reading a non-fiction text about tsunami. Please copy out the answers onto paper or into your home learning book.DO NOT write answers on the sheet.  Thursday Reading Activity- Spotting a Tsunami

 

Writing Activity 

In today’s lesson you will begin to write a poem about what the Old man dreams of. Watch the Thursday Video PPt Writing Lesson 4 and follow it step by step.  You may find it useful to have yesterday’s resource sheet which included vocabulary which you choose to magpie today.

 

Maths

Today we are learning to find fractions of a set of objects again. Watch this video https://vimeo.com/510590763​​ to help you before completing the worksheet that is below. Topic (Science)

In Science this week, we'll be looking at states of matter again. These are solids, liquids and gases. Firstly, have a look at and work through the activities in the changing states powerpoint. This will recap the states of matter as well as looking at changing states of matter. Once you have done this, there are two activities for you to complete. Firstly, have a go at the Solid, Liquid and Gas Activity sheet. Then complete the Reversible Irreversible Changes Activity Sheet​. I hope you have fun with this work. When we're back in school, we'll be completing some really fun, hands on activities!
