Session 1 - Phonics

Continuing with phase 2 and phase 3 phonics, today Mrs Holmes recaps ng and qu. Can you segment and blend to build and record words including the digraphs ng and qu?

 

Session 2 – English

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes reading the beginning of the story again. Look at all the foods Lola doesn’t like! Peas, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, spaghetti, eggs, sausages, cauliflower, cabbage, baked beans, bananas, oranges, apples, rice, cheese and fish fingers. Are there any foods you don’t like? Can you write a list of food you don’t like or draw a picture of yourself and add any foods you don’t like in a speech bubble? Use the sentence starter I don’t like………..

 

Session 3 -  Maths - Representing and sorting numbers 9 and 10

Watch the video of Mrs Leigh finding different ways to make 9 and 10. Which numbers can we add together to make 9 and 10? Make sure you count carefully

 

Activity

Remember the picture cards you sorted yesterday. Make your own picture cards to show 9 and 10 or use objects around your house to show 9 and 10

 

Challenge

Write a number sentences to match your picture cards

 

Session 4-Topic

Our Term 4 Topic is ‘Are carrots orange?’ Look in your fridge and your food cupboards. Which different foods can you find? Can you find fruit, vegetables, cereals and meats? Do you know which foods are healthy and unhealthy?

 

Activity

Draw a picture of the different foods you have found. Now add a label to each food.

Extra Fun Pasta Jewellery

Colour pasta tubes with felt tip pens or paint. Then thread them onto string or wool to create your own necklace or bracelet.
