Here are your activities for today – Thursday 21st January.

 

Phonics:  Log on to Phonics hero https://phonicshero.com/ and complete the next activity.

Yesterday we watched this video and reviewed the sound oo, ue, u_e

 

Watch this once more to recap, focusing on the words spelt with the split digraph u_e. Can you add sound buttons to these words? flute, spruce, plume, rule, rude, brute. Write a sentence using these words – For example – June plays the flute.

 

GPS: Adding y to words ending in e. See PDF for activity. Our spelling words this week are - every, everyone, everybody, blue, blew.

 

Guided Reading: Log on to Purple Mash and read Chapter four of ‘Magic in the Moonlight’ Complete the 2do.

 

English: Today you will be retelling part of the story. See the video here. You can listen to the story here.

 

Maths: Today we will continue to make equal groups.  Watch this video which will take you though some examples and then complete the worksheet. You can write out your answers you do not need to print out your sheet.  Remember to attempt the Flashback questions first. Watch this video.

 

Topic: PHSE: WALT recognise that not everyone feels the same at the same time or about the same things - Read the PDF about the athlete Dick Fosbury, who pioneered the ‘Fosbury Flop’ style of high jumping. Research a famous sportsperson who inspires you. Write about why they became famous and any difficulties they had to overcome.

 

Topic: Science: WALT Find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching - Watch this lesson and complete the tasks - Use balls of clay or dough to explore how their shape can be changed by rolling, twisting, cutting and stretching. Take pictures and write about the changes that have happened. Describe how some objects and materials can be changed and how these changes can be desirable or undesirable.
