Session 1 - Phonics

We are going to continue learning Phase 3 sounds which are all digraphs, two letters making one sound or a trigraph, three letters making one sound. Click the link for Letters and Sounds video for segmenting and blending to read words with the digraph short ‘oo’

Session 2 – English

Let’s think about Everyday Heroes. Watch the video of Mrs Holmes talking about our everyday heroes at this time. Doctors and Nurses are working so very hard to help us get better if we get poorly, which is their job. However, because of the corona virus they are working even harder as more people are poorly. So they are working harder to make sure they help all people that are unwell or have broken a bone, or cut themselves or have just hurt themselves. Pharmacists and people that work in the chemists are also heroes as they are busy making and sorting any medicine, tablets or creams that poorly people may need to get better. Finally, all the people that work in hospitals are also everyday hero’s too. The cleaners, the cooks, receptionists, ambulance drivers, paramedics all work together to keep the hospitals open. Make a list of the Everyday Heroes we have discussed today.

Session 3 -  Maths

Today we are looking at number 7. Watch the video and join in. This tens frame is showing 7. How can we place the 7 dots on the domino? We can have 1 dot on one side and 6 dots on the other side. There are still 7 dots altogether.

We can have 2 dots on one side and 5 dots on the other. There are still 7 dots altogether.

Now can you place the dots on the domino? How many ways can you make 7? You can draw dots or use 7 objects from your house and 2 plates or mats.

Session 4-Topic

Creative

Over this week produce some art based around night time. Think about all the things you have found out about; animals that come out at night, people who help us at night, the stars and how dark it is at night. You can use anything you like; pens, pencils, paint, used boxes or tubes. You could draw a picture or make a night time scene in a shoe box. We look forward to seeing pictures of your creations on Tapestry.
