HOME LEARNING

In order to get to your child's work, click on the year group they are in above. This will take you to the blog for the class. You will simply then need to find the right day on the blog and then complete the activities set for that day. The teachers will have provided as much information as they can to help you, and will be available during the day to help you if you need any additional help or guidance.

When you've completed each activity, upload a picture of the work to your Class Dojo page for your teacher. You can join Eastchurch's Class Dojo by clicking here. You'll then be able to upload pictures of any work you do via the app, which can be downloaded to phones, iPads and other devices here.

The two guides below may be useful to you if you haven't used Class Dojo before. We would definitely recommend reading through the Portfolio Guide, which will teach you how to upload your child's work so that the teacher can effectively mark it.

You might also be interested in some videos here that can give you some guidance on helping your child be resilient.

PARENT SURVEY

Parents, please take the time to complete a quick Parent Survey for us, the link for which is here.

Your feedback is important to us; we use it to help make our school even better. The last time we sent this type of survey, 73% of parents agreed or strongly agreed that the school makes them aware of what their child learns throughout the year.

We wanted to do better (even though we are in a pandemic) so since then we have: updated the curriculum section of the school's website with curriculum information about the topics taught for each year group throughout the year, started using Class Dojo where we share information and work, sent home Termly Curriculum Newsletters and shared curriculum news in the weekly newsletter.

Your feedback matters; please let us know how we are doing and don't forget to write a comment if you think we are doing something well, so that we can continue building upon this good practise.

LETTER JOIN

Mrs Janes, our English lead, has subscribed our school to a new website: 'Letter-Join' (http://www.letterjoin.co.uk). This is a handwriting scheme that can be used at home and in school.

At Eastchurch, we are proud of our pupil’s handwriting and take particular care in our cursive handwriting style. Handwriting is a basic skill that influences the quality and speed of work throughout the curriculum. Helping to make handwriting an automatic process ensures that it doesn’t interfere with creative and mental thinking. Details on how to login are in a PDF below and are also on School Story section of Class Dojo.

Children are encouraged to practise their handwriting at home by using the Pupil log-in for Letter-join. Children can also watch the word and letter animations and practice and explore other handwriting resources on Letter-join.

Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Soul

The Coronavirus Pandemic has brought with it a number of challenges to our mental health and well being.  Please look to these resources for useful information, tips and ideas to help support a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy soul.  You can always contact a member of our Well being Team who can be found in the 'About Us' section of this website, under 'Well Being and Nurture.'
