Session 1 - Phonics

We are going to continue learning Phase 3 sounds which are all digraphs, two letters making one sound or a trigraph, three letters making one sound. Click here for Letters and Sounds video for segmenting and blending to read words with the digraph ‘ng’

Session 2 – English

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes sharing another picture from the book. Today’s picture is from the beginning of the book with Astid in her bedroom, What does this picture tell us about Astrid? What do you think she really loves? How do you know?

Write a list of things. What do you like and love? What are your hobbies and interests? What are your special objects? Talk to your grown up or write a list or a sentence.

Session 3 -  Maths Representing 0

Watch the video of Mrs Leigh finding out about the number 0. Watch the number blocks video all about 0. 0 means we have nothing.

Activity - Print out or look at the pictures – which picture shows 0?

Challenge  - Draw a picture or set up a picnic where one of your teddies has 0 food.

Session 4- RE - Learning Question- What is a parable?

Remember, this term we are looking at stories from the Bible. Some stories from the Bible are called parables.  A parable is a special story Jesus told that teaches Christians about God.

Today’s Parable is The Lost Sheep. Click here to watch the story. Can you retell the story to your grown up?

Have you ever been lost like the sheep? How did you feel? Were you scared? or worried? or frightened?  Christians believe that those feelings can come when they feel ‘lost’ from God. It’s a bit like people being the sheep and God being like the shepherd who looks after them. Jesus was teaching the people that however lost they feel,  God would keep looking for them.

God loves everyone even if they have done things wrong like Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was a bit like a lost sheep too because he was going the wrong way in his life.

Session 5 -Letter Formation

Today Mrs Holmes shows you how to form the letter ‘v’ correctly. Watch the video and practice. Remember to add the smiley face to your best formation.
