Session 1 - Phonics

We are going to continue learning Phase 3 sounds which are all digraphs, two letters making one sound or a trigraph, three letters making one sound. Click the link for Letters and Sounds video for segmenting and blending to read words with the trigraph ‘igh’

Session 2 – English

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes sharing the beginning of the book Astro Girl again. Astrid and her Dad make her favourite biscuits. What shape are Astrid’s biscuits? Why do you think they are that shape? What shape would you like?

If possible, make some biscuits at home with your grown up. Use the Easiest Biscuits Ever recipe attached below or use your favourite recipe if you would rather. Talk about each step of making the biscuits. What ingredients do you need?  What equipment do you need? Do you have to mix, whisk, knead, roll, squash, cut out?

Share photos of you making the biscuits and I would also love to see a photo of your finished yummy biscuits too.

Session 3 -  Maths - Making pairs

Watch the video of Mrs Leigh finding out about pairs. A pair is when we have a group of 2

How many of the smallest pot does it take to fill the biggest pot?
