SPAG

Today involves revising some more of the Year 5 and 6 statutory spellings. Your spelling words for today are – available, average, awkward, bargain, bruise, rhyme, rhythm, sacrifice, secretary and shoulder. Complete the activities in the spelling resource which can be found at the end of this page.

 

Reading

Read chapter 1 of Pit boys. Answer the multiple choice and open-ended questions.

 

English

This week we will be finding out more about the setting of the story — the workhouse that Jim has found himself in — and why it is such a feared and hated institution and what impact being in it might have on him. You will be studying photographs today as well as watching a clip from the famous film, Oliver Twist. Watch the video PowerPoint where you will be guided through the lesson.
