Today’s Activities

Today begins with English activities, followed by Maths and Topic in the afternoon.

Over the last few days, we have been practising to spell words which contain the /sh/ sound spelt with 'ch'. Today, you will be taking part in a spelling quiz on Purple Mash. Please complete the 2Do called Y4 Spelling Quiz 0502where you will have 10 seconds to look at the word and then drag the letter tiles to spell it. Good luck!

Reading Activity

Today’s reading activity is another non fiction text. This time it about Butser Ancient Farm.   Butser Ancient Farm Reading Activity

Writing Activity

Today you will be proof reading and editing your fact sheet about Iceland and then once editing has been completed you will write out a final edited copy of your fact sheet.    Friday Video PPt Writing Lesson

Today’s lesson is all about practising Unit and Non-unit fractions. Watch this video which explains how to do this a bit more and then have a go at the Area Dice Game. A game for 2 or 3 players. More information about how to play is found below.

Don’t forget your daily 5-10 minutes of times tables practice, using either Purple Mash (Monster Multiplication 2Do), Times Tables Rockstar or Top Marks Hit the Button    Hit the Button - Quick fire maths practice for 5-11 year olds (topmarks.co.uk)

The Viking Age in Britain began about AD 793 and lasted over 200 years. Bands of fierce raiders began to once again attack England's shores, just like the Anglo-Saxons had done 400 years before. Today you will be gathering relevant historical information to create a poster about a particular aspect of Viking life in detail (050221.year4.history2), such as clothes and jewellery, religion and gods, houses and food, rhyme and writing and art and craft. All the information you need is included in the pdf, but if you would like to do some extra research to include on your poster, please use this BBC Bitesize link about Viking life:  What was life like in Viking Britain? - BBC Bitesize

We look forward to seeing your posters!

Have a great homelearning  Friday.
