Session 1 - Phonics

Mrs Holmes recaps phase 3 phonemes learned so far. Join in and segment and blend words including a selection of the digraphs and trigraphs learned so far. How many can we build and read today?

Session 2 – English

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes reading more of the story. How does Charlie get Lola to eat the different foods? Can you predict how he may describe the different foods? Lola spots the tomato. Do you think Lola will be persuaded this time to try the tomato? The food she will never, ever eat. Record your prediction. I think Lola will/will not try the tomato because…………..

Print or use your own dominoes to sort into groups of fewer or more than a given number.

Session 4- Topic - Surprise Surprise.

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes reading Handa’s Surprise by Eileen Browne. As she reads, pause the video and draw the animal and the fruit it steals from the basket. Now use your drawings to retell the story to your grown up.

Extra Fun - Fruit Salad

Help prepare a fruit salad. Chop and slice your favourite fruits carefully. Which fruits will you choose for your fruit salad? Apple, banana, strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, grapes, melon, orange, blueberries, kiwi. Take a photo of your fruit salad before you eat it.
