Today’s Activities

Today begins with English activities, followed by Maths and Science in the afternoon.

GPS

We are going to be exploring words which contain the /ay/ sound but spelt with 'ei', 'eigh' or 'ey'. Complete the tasks on 110221.year4.GPS4task, by adding 'ei', 'eigh' or 'ey' to each word, then write sentences including each word.

Handwriting

For handwriting today, we will be using the Year 3/4 words that we practised on Tuesday and we will be putting them into sentences. Read through page 2 (you will need to scroll down to 'Missing Word Sentences 1: 2 ) of 110221.year4.handwriting2 PAGE 2 ONLY. Fill in the missing words (each sentence has 3 missing words) so that each sentence makes sense. Remember to use your very best Eastchurch handwriting!

Reading Activity

Purple Mash 2Do  Read Chapter 4 of ‘Planet Earth’   and then answer Chp.4 Quiz questions

Writing Activity

In today’s lesson we will read the final installment of ‘Arthur and the Golden Rope.’  Then you will choose one of the parts of the story and re-tell it as a comic strip. You have the option to use the comic strip tenplate provided or draw one of your own, using a rule, on plain paper. See Thursday Video PPt Writing Activity 4 Comic Strip Tenplate

Maths

This week we are going to be working on Equivalent fractions. Watch this https://vimeo.com/504801539 which explains how to do this a bit more and then have a go at the Thursday Maths Activity Sheet below. Complete as many questions as you can, but please don’t worry if there are ones you are not sure of.

Don’t forget your daily 5-10 minutes of times tables practice, using either Purple Mash (Monster Multiplication 2Do), Times Tables Rockstar or Top Marks Hit the Button    Hit the Button - Quick fire maths practice for 5-11 year olds (topmarks.co.uk)

Topic  (Science)

This week we will be summing up all our learning about sound in a presentation to a rockstar!  You can choose whether to prepare a speech, video, poster, PowerPoint or other way to present your work. Watch the video (please note it does not have any sound) then complete the planning sheet, this will explain what your presentation must include.   We have also given you a separate page with all the video links you might need to refresh your memory.

Have a great home learning  Thursday.
