Year 4  Daily Activities  Week 1  Tuesday 5th January

 

Good morning Turtles, Frogs and Deers. Here is our home learning for today. Please remember to ask you adult to take a photograph of your completed work and upload it to dojo so that we see what you have done.

Reading Activity: This term’s topic is Traders and Raiders and follows on from the Roman invasion of Britain. When the Romans left Britain in about 400 AD, the Anglo-Saxons and then the Vikings raided and eventually settled in Britain. In today’s reading activity you will be reading about the Anglo-Saxons and answering questions about them.  Lesson 2 Reading Activity Anglo Saxons and L2 and L3 Reading Resource Anglo Saxons and Vikings.

 

Writing Activity: Today you will be introduced to our new class book, ‘Arthur and the Golden Rope’ by Joe Todd-Stanton.  You will be asked to look at the first 2 pages of the story and to identify artefacts and then to write a description about 1 or 2 of them.   Lesson 2 English Home Learning Activity

 

Maths: Daily times tables warm up.  Spend 5-10 minutes learning your tables. You can choose from any of these websites to practice-  Purple Mash Monster Multiplication, Times Tables Rockstars and Hit the Button Hit the Button - Quick fire maths practice for 5-11 year olds (topmarks.co.uk)

 

Main activity - divide and multiply by 6. Read through input, which is below or a video is here and then complete the activity. (see attached documents for activity and resource sheet)

 

Topic Lesson 1 & 2 Sketch a Viking God and comic strip Thor (see attached document for activity and resource sheet).
