Session 2 – English

Watch the video of Mrs Holmes reading a little bit more of the story Astro Girl. When Dad says about sleeping on her own Astrid says ‘I think that will be very hard…. But I’ll do it!’ Why do you think Astrid will find sleeping on her own hard? Is there anything you find tricky or hard to do? Either at home or at school? What can we do when we find things a little tricky?

Write a sentence about something you find a little tricky or hard. Write another sentence or talk to your grown up about what you can do when we do find things a little tricky.

Session 3 -  Maths - Combining groups

Watch the video of Mrs Leigh combining and counting groups.

If I have 4 red flowers and 3 Yellow flowers how many do I have altogether?

Print out or look at the picture of the park. How many flowers are there altogether? How many birds are there altogether? How many frogs are there all together?

Show me how many flowers, then birds, then frogs altogether on a 10s frame.

Session 4- Topic

Bedtime Story

What is your favourite bedtime story? Why is it nice to have a bedtime story before you go to sleep? How does it make you feel having a bedtime story?

We would love to hear your favourite bedtime story. Do you have the courage to get your adult to video you reading a bedtime story and upload to Tapestry?
