Session 1 - Phonics

We are going to continue learning Phase 3 sounds which are all digraphs, two letters making one sound or a trigraph, three letters making one sound. Click the link for Letters and Sounds video for learning the new digraph ‘oa’

Session 2 – English

Let’s think again about when Astrid says she will find sleeping on her own very hard. Watch the video of Mrs Holmes reading this part of the story again. Why might Astrid find sleeping on her own in the space rocket hard? What do you do when you go to bed to sleep? What helps you go to sleep? Do you have a story and a cuddle? Do you have a teddy to cuddle? Do you have a nightlight and a lullabye? Let’s write a letter to Astrid to give her some ideas of things that may help he be brave to go to sleep.

Session 3 -  Maths - Combining groups

Watch the video of  Mrs Leigh combining and counting groups. Today we will look at combining the dots on dominoes. There are 2 groups of dots on a domino. How many altogether?

Activity

Print out or look at the picture of dominoes (or use your own domino if you have some). How many does each domino have altogether?

Challenge

Show me how many altogether on a 10s frame.

Session 4- Topic - Bedtime routine

What do you do before you go to bed? Have your dinner? Brush your teeth? Have a bedtime story? I wonder what aliens do before they go to bed.

Activity

Draw and label a timeline of your bedtime routine so that if an alien came to stay they would know what to do before bed.
