Session 1 – Phonics - Practice makes Perfect!

Use the phase 2 phoneme cards we sent home in term 2 or write these sounds onto small squares of paper: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, l, ll, f, ff, ss  and add phase 3 j, v and w.

Watch the video on Tapestry and join in with all the phonemes.

Let’s segment and blend some more cvc words.

Session 2 – English

Watch the video clip of Mrs Holmes reading the beginning of Owl Babies. Discuss with your child- Where has Mummy Owl gone? How do the owl babies feel? Are they scared, frightened, worried, feeling brave? Will Mummy Owl return? When will she return?

Activity: Can you record how the Owls may be feeling? Remember to use your phonics to help with your writing.

Use the attached phonics charts to help with letter formations.

Session 3 -  Maths - Ordering events

Watch the video of Mrs Leigh brushing her teeth. (On Tapestry). What does she have to do first? What does she do next? What does she do last?

Mrs Leigh made a sandwich for lunch; have a look at the pictures and tell your adult what Mrs Leigh did first, next, then and last.

Now have a think about a job you do every day. Getting dressed, putting your shoes on, or getting ready for bed. Or a job you might do sometimes like making cakes.

Draw a picture of what you did first, next and last when doing your job.

All videos, pictures and activity sheet can be found on tapestry.
