Home learning – Wednesday 27th January
Revision Quiz – determiners. Reminder – a determiner is a word which is used before a noun to show which particular example of the noun you are talking about. (Tip – a is for words starting with consonants, an is for vowel words e.g. a chair, an elephant).
Read Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 of Journey to the river sea (our book from English lessons). There are some questions to answer about Chapter 4 on the video PowerPoint for today’s English lesson.
Please make sure you have read Chapter 3 before starting today’s lesson. You will be writing a diary entry for Maia, written the evening after Miss Minton reveals her plan. Follow the video PowerPoint where one of the Year 6 teachers will talk you through the lesson – see resources below. Remember to read Chapter 4 at the end of the lesson and answer the comprehension questions.
Today, you are going to be learning how to find a rule (one-step). Click here https://vimeo.com/499979721 to access the White Rose video. A PowerPoint version has also been attached below. Complete the fluency, reasoning and problem solving – see resources below.
Today you will be helping to ‘make a difference’. Following on from last week, you will be thinking about people who are living in difficult situations and you will be thinking about ways to help these people. In the resources below you will find your task – designing a project to raise money for your chosen charity.
Today you can spend some time practising for the ‘Virtual Winter Sports Week’. Remember there are 7 events: Figure of 8, Walk out burpees, Ski jumps, Bounce catch, Up down plank, Squat jumps, Snowboard jumps and Ski sit. Click on the link for a demonstration of each of these activities: 🥇Virtual Winter Sports Week🥇 - YouTube.
